Winnie loved the outdoors, she lived and breathed it, she wanted only the best for it. Now she isn't one of those people who defend the trees but, she does want the trees and forest, jungles to be peaceful and left alone. Now that was how she was raised, you treat everyone and everything with respect, especially if that thing is a danger to you. But in this case nothing was dangerous.
As she was walking close to the lake she was brought back to when she was nine, and she almost drown. Now she has a fear of deep water, but over a few years time she gradually swam in deeper water. Winnie had been by at the lake for some time and had looked to the forest many times, she wondered if anything was going to jump out and attack her.
She had a small boom box with her and played a song that sounded somewhat hypnotizing. She didn't exactly dance but, she swayed to the music like a weeping willow. Then she jumped at a voice that called to her.

Edward loved the outdoor's, in fact, it was his favourite place to be. Outside of classes he would always be found either in the Greenhouse, somewhere in the grounds, or, if he had homework, in the Hufflepuff common room. Today was one of those days he would walk around the grounds. He had been around the grounds so many times in his seven years here at Hogwarts, but he could still always find something new, or something interesting. Today, he decided to check out the lake.
The lake was one of his favourite places. He would find a nice comfortable patch of grass and watch the ongoings of the sea creatures. But today, instead of the creatures of the sea, it was a girl, swaying about that caught his attention. He thought it might be best to just leave her alone, but on the other hand, he hadn't really talked to anybody in a while, and he was a friendly boy.
"Hello." he called, not wanting to startle her, though it was exactly what happened.

Winnie screamed bloody murder, or what sounded similar to it. She turned around only to find a young Hufflepuff boy, who she immeadiently knew. Ed Tonks, one of her good friends. "Eddie! Oh god, you scared me!" Winnie said to him as she turned off the music. As she walked to him she had a smile upon her face.
"Ed, how are you darling? Are you here to get out of the stuffy castle too?" Winnie said with a smile. Winnie looked to the lake, and admired it's grey matter, occasionally spotting a few creatures. Winnie looked back to her friend with a smile.

Edward smiled when the girl turned around. It wa Winona, he should have been able to tell from behind that it was one of his best friends, but no. Edward was nearly blind the things he wouldn't see. He laughed a little at her comment, sure that everyone in a four mile radias could tell he had scared her.
"I am just peachy." he replied. "Well, you know me. The outdoors is where I belong!" It was true. Edward could actually see himself taking the year after school off to go camping around the world. It would be very interesting.

"Yeah i know you, I think you were a tree in a different life." Winnie said laughing a bit. Winnie looked at Ed for awhile then back at the lake. She swore she saw a mermaid grace the surface but, when she blinked it was nowhere to be found, not even a ripple in the water.
Winnie smiled as she knew it was only her imagination, or so she thought. Winnie looked at Ed's smiling face before saying with a wink; "You got a girlfriend?"

Edward laughed at Winona. Of course, he knew it was true, it was a little too much of a nature freak, it was quite possible that he could have been a tree before. However, his smile sliped a little at her next words. He quickly covered it up, he hated lying but he couldn't tell her the truth about his 'situation'. He had a girlfriend, at least he did - he wasn't quite sure what was happening now - but the relationship was a secret, and there was no way Edward would ever break his promise to Andromeda.
"Nope." he said, trying to make it sound light, like anything else he'd say. However, Edward had never been the best liar. He quickly turned away from her, looking back to the lake to keep his face hidden.

Winnie looked at Ed as he seemed to search for the right answer for her question. Winnie was suprised at what he said, Winnie was suprised because she had known Ed for awhile. Winnie knew lieing was never his forte. "Ed are you sure it's a no?" Winnie said suspicously.
Ed looked to the water, while in turn made Winnie even more suspicous. "Ed you have known me for awhile, you can tell me anything" Winnie said with a slight smile.
