A blonde girl clad in a long sleeved white dress and knee length boots stood by the fence of the Shrieking Shack. She had been taking a walk around Hogsmeade and had finally stopped here. Her boots kicked the dirt on the ground. Cissa was bored. How many times had she walked around Hogsmeade today? Twice possibly. Twice. Since when did she walk around Hogsmeade twice? Never. Hugging herself, Narcissa turned on her heels and left the most haunted building in Britain.
Making her way through Hogsmeade once more, the young Slytherin took her time in doing so. Passing by The Three Broomsticks, Narcissa stopped. She might as well go in for a drink. It wasn’t like she had anything to do back at her dorm. Tossing her hair from her shoulders, Cissa made her way into the pub. Pushing the door open, the blonde stood there for a few seconds before walking over to the bar area.
Ordering a chilled butterbeer, Narcissa waited as the man went over to get her order. She could use some proper company right now. It seemed so long since she had a proper conversation with anyone for some reason. Everyone was so caught up in their schoolwork or something else. The man came back, bringing Narcissa out of her thoughts. Paying the man with a smile, the blonde sipped her drink.

Barty walked down the high street aimlessly with no particular destination in mind. His black robes billowed out around him and the stiff collar was pulled up. He took his time and watched the people as they walked past. He found them fascinating, occasionally stopping to study them more closely. Enthralled by how differently they did a simple task such as moving from one place to another, he secretly imagined how each of them would react to immense pain. He heard their screaming and saw agony etched on their faces, each one completely contrary to the last one. His attention was diverted when something knocked into his legs. He looked down to see a small child look up fearfully into his eyes. Within moments the girl burst in to tears and ran off, shouting for her mummy. Though he knew that the same would have happened if he had been anyone else, Barty couldn't help but feel a rush of power over that little girl and it felt good.
With that sudden outburst over with he set off again to wander without purpose. He twirled his wand around his fingers in front of him, occasionally shooting out fairly harmless sparks in random directions. He came to rest at The Three Broomsticks though he couldn't bring himself to enter, what with all those happy, jolly people that always seemed to inhabit the tavern. Instead Barty leant against the wall just a metre or so away from the door. After just a few minutes of waiting he could see another students approaching. He recognised her instantly as Narcissa Black, a fellow Slytherin just a year older than himself. His eyes followed her as she entered the pub, his gaze trailing her entire body. Without a second's hesitation he pushed open the door and also went in.
As he'd expected the sound of laughter and high spirits engulfed him as soon as the door shut. It was kind of sickening really, who knew people could be that cheerful? Nevertheless he made his way to the bar right next to Narcissa and ordered a bottled water. Barty frowned. She still hadn't noticed him. The gave him a funny look as he handed over the bottle, he wasn't used to such orders from Hogwarts students as they usually wanted butterbeer. After placing some coins into an outstretched hand he turned to face Narcissa and said, "I didn't think this was your sort of place. And where's Lucius at? Or have you two felt out?" At his last comment Barty smirked, though he was only teasing.

Her eyes looked at the shelves n front of her as she crossed her legs. The sound of laughter and cheerful voices wasn’t getting to her. Okay, maybe a little but nothing she couldn’t deal with. They just served to remind her that she was alone and had no on to talk to. Perhaps she should go make friends with all the Mudbloods. Then she would have more friends. Right. Cissa rolled her eyes at herself. Her ridiculous train of thought was not helping her.
Narcissa wasn’t paying much attention to anyone around her. That included anyone who sat down next to her, walked passed her or talked to her. Wait, was that someone talking to her? The blonde turned her head slightly, seeing Barty for the first time. “Not my kind of place? And it’s yours then huh, my dear? Since you’re here and all.” Narcissa spoke, a faint smile on her face as she replied him. Looking at the younger Slytherin, Cissa sipped her drink as she noted what drink he got.
At the mention of Lucius, Narcissa snorted silently. “Have absolutely no idea where he is. Perhaps you know where he is?” The blonde asked. Lucius Malfoy. He was perhaps the one male that she ever wanted. Everyone seemed to know that fact. But did he? Shaking her head slightly, Cissa spoke. “I walked around Hogsmeade twice. Twice. There are only so many times can a girl walk around Hogsmeade and not get bored to tears. So talk to me, Barty. How have you been?” Narcissa asked him

Barty quickly shook his head, "Oh no no no no, of course not! Filled to the brim with idiot Gryffindors and Hufflepufss, they ruin the place. The service is good though, and the glasses are clean which is more that I can say for that dump down the road."
"The arrogant twit is probably admiring himself in a door knob or something. What you see in him, Narcissa, I'll never know," he said bitterly. After unscrewing the top Barty took a long drink from the bottle, emptying half of its contents. He put it back on the bar and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "Gladly. Well I've been good, though Slughorn did give me a detention for sleeping in lesson so that was a it of a bummer but other than that my week has been great. How about you?" He leant his chin on his fist and leant in slightly, inquisitivly, "Tell me everything."

Hearing the bitter tone in his voice, Narcissa couldn’t help but laugh a little. “What? Could it be possible that you are jealous of Lucius, Barty?” The blonde asked, her blue green eyes looking at him. The Crouch wasn’t too bad himself but unfortunately he was younger than her. Other than that, he could be a fine catch. But Lucius was just in a class of his own.
As he started talking about his week, Cissa listened and took another sip of her drink. “Ah, Slughorn. Lovely Professor.” Narcissa said. “Everything?” The blonde repeated. I talked to James Potter. Right, no way was she going to tell him that. “Nothing much happened actually. School. Looking at guys. Reading my books. Sleeping. Walking around Hogsmeade. That sums it all up!” Narcissa said, ending her sentence with a huge smile at Barty.

"Of that git?" Barty scowled and folded his arms across his chest. He really did despise Malfoy. The way his head was too far up his own arse, the way all the Slytherins looked up to him as if he was something great and also the way Narcissa seemed to adore him. What did Lucius have that he didn't? Okay the blonde had two years on him and women seemed to go for the older men but other than that? Nothing! Oh how he wished he could get hold of his neck and... Gritting his teeth he managed to spit out, "Of course not!"
"Mmm," he said though not really agreeing with her. Sure Slughorn was a decent teacher and he was the head of Slytherin but still, the guy annoyed the hell out of Barty and needless to say the feeling was mutual. Playing with the bottle in front of him he nodded along as Narcissa spoke, taking in all that she was saying. He smirked up at her when she'd finished and said, "You speak of looking at boys as if it is a hobby to you. Many people may see that as a bit sleeper-ish you know. Especially those pureblood snobs you choose to associate with."

Narcissa giggled slightly as Barty replied to her question. “Oh you so are.” She told him, looking over at the younger man. “And with good reason too.” Cissa added. Perhaps her fellow Slytherin felt like strangling the life out of Lucius. Well, he wouldn’t exactly be the only one.
“I’m looking at them. I’m not sleeping around with them. Are there any rumours to how many boys I slept with already?” Cissa asked, not really all that concerned about whatever people said about her. If they were talking about her, that was good. Good or bad attention was attention nonetheless. If they really knew her, they wouldn’t be spreading all sorts of nonsense. “Are you yourself a pureblood snob, Barty?” The blonde asked, arching her eyebrow slightly.
